Being an Enterprise Agile Coach at Project Brilliant comes with even greater expectation of being among the most experienced and capable Agilists in the world.
In this role within Project Brilliant you will collaborate with and mentor our coaches, and enhance the capability of our Executive team. You are a thought leader focused on sharing experiences and advancing learning across Project Brilliant, as well as through public speaking opportunities. You are a skillful facilitator who can lead a group session, and are equally comfortable contributing as a collaborator. You understand when taking the lead is needed and when to challenge others to lead themselves. You think strategically to guide our approach and take initiative to overcome challenges as they arise.
In working with clients, you partner with leaders of client organizations to coach, advise, and guide them through their Agile transformation toward tangible business outcomes and measurable results. You build relationships across the organization to skillfully build trust, influence change and create transparency. You draw upon your deep Agile experience and OCM expertise to provide options and experiments. You will guide our client engagement team to consistently deliver on the overall strategy and client’s desired outcomes. Your mindset of servant leadership along with outstanding facilitation, conflict resolution, and organizational skills provides capability to successfully navigate the complexities of client engagements.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
- Collaborate with a team of experienced Agilists and professionals to share experiences and advance learning across Project Brilliant.
- Use your expertise to coach organizations and guide executives through sustainable outcome-based Agile transformations.
- Clearly explain the value of Agile and coaching using tangible metrics and results to instill trust and confidence.
- Build relationships and work effectively with all levels of the organization from the Teams to C-suite to advance engagements.
- Support business development efforts by collaborating with our sales team to close deals and kickoff engagements.
- Contribute to regional/national/global conferences and continue to grow as a thought leader in the industry through learning and experimentation.
- Represent Project Brilliant with excellence, integrity, and do the right thing at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading multiple large-scale Agile/Digital transformations and/or OCM initiatives
- Experience coaching/consulting C-suite and executives
- Experience mentoring and coaching Agile teams
- Experience creating and delivering interactive training workshops
- 10+ years of Agile coaching experience
- 5+ years of consulting experience
- Exceptional self-awareness
- Deep knowledge in various team and multi-team Agile frameworks
- Expert in-person and remote facilitation skills
- Remote coaching and training experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree desired, Master’s or higher preferred
- Willing to travel

In this role within Project Brilliant, you will collaborate with our coaches to advance the craft of Agile coaching and the effectiveness of our engagement approach. You are a skillful facilitator who can lead a group session and are equally comfortable as a collaborator. You bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion to share it, balanced with a strong desire to learn from others. You believe we are better together and seek opportunities to help Project Brilliant grow and improve.
In working with clients, you work with Teams and partner with middle management and key stakeholders to coach, advise, and guide them in enabling change and creating an environment conducive to high performing Agile teams. You are well versed in various Agile frameworks and practices and have various tools in your bag for helping teams and individuals understand concepts and learn by doing. You draw upon your deep Agile experience to provide options, highlight anti-patterns, and point out pitfalls that allow the client transformation to be successful and sustainable in the long term. You help to establish structures, such as communities of practice, and advocate for Agile-friendly policy changes that support self-organization and self-management. You guide, coordinate, and deliver team training and coaching that balances the need for team autonomy and organizational consistency. You understand and empathize with the needs of teams, as well as their managers and close stakeholders and can guide them all through the ah-ha moments of their Agile journey.

Senior Scrum Master (Contract-to-Hire) – IA, MN, WI only
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Scrum Master has primary responsibility to empower Scrum teams to be high performing, delivering business value through their development and execution of work activities, and facilitate initiatives of varying complexity from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with Agile Scrum and/or Kanban practices. They will remove impediments to delivery through the proactive management of external dependencies, team problem solving and the development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges. The Scrum Master must be highly effective in communication with all stakeholders, including operational and business leads, Product Owner and Developers. The Scrum Master will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and have a thirst for knowledge and continuous improvement.
Project Brilliant, LLC is leading an Agile transformation with our client company. In this contract-to-hire role, you will begin working through Project Brilliant, LLC and eventually transition to become an employee of the client company.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily management of the scrum team
- Establishes and facilitates scrum ceremonies
- Collaborates with the Product Owner on backlog refinement
- Coordinates the activities of the team as it relates to writing and estimating user stories
- Establishes team capacity and velocity and manages sprints accordingly
- Establishes team level Definition of Ready and Definition of Done
- Aligns priorities for the team during daily standup, backlog refinement
- Removes impediments for the team, identifies and manages dependencies
- Works with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role
- Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization
- Establishes and communicates team level metrics
Location (REQUIRED):
- Must live (physically located in) Iowa (IA), Minnesota (MN), or Wisconsin (WI).
- Primarily work remote, with occasional travel to company head quarters (La Crosse, Wisconsin).
Education and Learning (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering or a related field
Work Experience (REQUIRED):
- 4 years of product or project development experience with 2 years as a Scrum Master
- Experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps, JIRA, or Rally
- Experience working in a Scaled Framework environment (LeSS, SAFe, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
License and Certifications (REQUIRED):
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
